This past weekend academics, performers, and music enthusiasts gathered at the University of New Hampshire to remember the lives and work of Amy Beach and Teresa Carreño.  The Eagle Tribune wrote about the conference, and specifically wrote about Beach’s life and music.

Great to read about WPA Grant Winner Chicago Sinfonietta in the Chicago Sun Times!  Conductor Mei-Ann Chen!  They kick off their 30th anniversary season TONIGHT with a program full of works by women composers.

The Washington Post gives readers an inside look into the work of a music librarian, interviewing Elizabeth Schnobrick, head music librarian for the National Symphony Orchestra.  The expense of performing new repertoire as described in the article is exactly why we created the WPA Performance Grants.  Help spread the word about the opportunity for ensembles to win funding to perform works by women composers!

Learn about the Foundry Music Company in New Haven, Connecticut at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford blog.  The music shop has been a fixture in the arts community since 1975.  Current owner Marcia Killian is also a WCFH Board Member and writes about her commitment to advocating for the works of women composers through the shop.
