News to start your week!

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news of the death of Jane Little – bass player with the Atlanta Symphony, and the worlds longest serving orchestral musician – has died after collapsing on stage.  Read more at the Washington Post.

Bob Shingleton at On An Overgrown Path visited Morocco and experienced a workshop where women are encouraged to explore and embrace music.  It’s a wonderful reminder that though professional musicians are making inroads to equality, huge gendered divides still exist throughout the world.  A great read, which you can find here.

And don’t forget to visit the monthly quiz at Into The Light Radio for a chance to win an orchestral sampler from Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy!

If you haven’t already, be sure to download the WPA May Calendar!
