News to start your week!

The Other Mozart, the play about Mozart’s sister Nannerl which we have written about before, was presented in Houston.  You can read the review here.

The Brighton Festival has announced that Laurie Anderson will be Guest Director for the 2016 – the Festival’s 50th season.  More information here.

And though she was not a musician, it is great to see that the Google Doodle for today features suffragette Alice Paul in honor of her 131st birthday.  If you missed it, check out the doodle (and the archive of past doodles) here, and learn more about Alice Paul here.

We would also be remiss to not acknowledge the passing of David Bowie, who traversed genres and challenged ideas of gender throughout his career.  Mary Elizabeth Williams has a great remembrance at Salon.

As always, let us know what we missed in a comment below!
