Some news to peruse as you start your week!

The New York Times shared that due to overwhelming interest for Cold Mountain, the first opera by Jennifer Higdon, another performance has been added.  The Santa Fe Opera will be giving the wold premiere the work on Thursday – more info here.

There is a new initiative in Cincinnati to encourage diversity in symphony orchestras.  The Cincinnati Symphony and University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music will be partnering to provide mentorship opportunities for graduate level musicians to become more prepared for the competitive nature of the professional music world.  Read more here.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center hosted their second All-Female Jazz Residency.  Twenty two women ages 16-22 from all over the country met at the Montclair campus to learn and collaborate in one-of-a-kind experience.  Learn more about the program and this year’s participants here.
