After 25 years at the helm, Marin Alsop is stepping down as musical director of the Cabrillo Festival after the 2016 season.  Stay tuned to see who may fill these very large shoes for the 2017 season, and what adventurous programming Alsop has in store for her final year.

In more conducting news, JoAnn Falletta has renewed her contract with the Virginia Symphony.

On Thursday (September 24) NYC’s classical music station, WQXR will be featuring women composers of the 20th and 21st centuries in their “24 on the 24th” marathon series.  Tune in all day to hear established favorites and new voices – stream online at the WQXR website!
