Some links to start your week!

WPA President was a guest blogger over at Song of the Lark.  Read her thoughts on the current state of classical programming, and what can be done to change it here.

A bit delayed – but I just stumbled upon Richard Brody’s profile of jazz composer Mary Lou Williams in The New Yorker in which he discusses a new documentary about her life, Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band.  Find out more about the film on their Facebook Page.

Alex Ross’s blog, The Rest is Noise, shared the news that Kanye West has discovered – and been inspired by – the work of Caroline Shaw.  Read more here.

Sinfini Music covered the experience of Jessica Curry, a composer of video game music who is stepping down from an executive role (in part) because of the sexism she experienced in the industry.  Another important reminder of just how far we have to go to achieve equality.

As always, let us know what we missed!
