This coming weekend will see three different performances of 2014 Performance Grant winners!

The Sheboygan Symphony will perform three works by Ana Milosavljevic on February 7 –  Red (2013) for orchestra,  the World Premiere of Reflections (2013) for violin and orchestra, and the World Premiere of Viper Concerto (2014) for Viper electric violin and orchestra, which was commissioned by the Sheboygan Symphony.

The Orchestra of St. Luke’s will present the world premiere of a new commission by Gabriela Lena Frank, titled Rapsodia Andina No. 2 on February 8.

And the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestra will perform two works on February 8 – Brett Omara’s Zambra and student composer Leigha Amick’s Adagio Dolce II.  Amick’s work recently won the 8th annual Young Composers Challenge.

Congratulations to these three ensembles for their innovative and inclusive programming!  We wish you every success for your concerts this weekend and only wish we could be at all three!
