Meira Warshauer is a contemporary American composer living in South Carolina and  often drawing inspiration from the Jewish music traditions.

Her music has been performed widely—throughout North American, Europe, South American, the Middle East and Asia.  She was the first to write a concerto (called Tekeeyah) for trombone, shofar, and orchestra.  You can listen to it here.  Warshauer also draws from nature for inspiration, and is actively involved in protecting the environment.
